BOSTON (TheStreet) -- U.S. indices posted modest gains yesterday. Here are five stocks that ignored the weariness and hit 52-week highs.

5. Agilent Technologies(A) rose 0.9% to $29.63. On Friday, the maker of scientific testing equipment posted a larger-than-expected quarterly profit and boosted its fourth-quarter forecast.

Our take: We rate Agilent "hold." Fiscal fourth-quarter profit plummeted 89% to $25 million, or 7 cents a share, as revenue fell 21% to $1.2 billion. Agilent's gross margin declined from 59% to 58%, and its operating margin dropped from 17% to 11%. Although Agilent is a leader in a growth sector, its shares are overvalued, trading at a premium to rivals on book value, sales and cash flow.
