BAE Systems Gets Army Pact For Parachutes

PHOENIX (AP) — A division of BAE Systems received a contract from the Army to phase out and upgrade to new personnel parachutes as part of a $220 million program.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

BAE is one of three companies who will produce the T-11 parachutes, which will replace the existing T-10 parachutes. The five year deal allows for future orders based on performance, according to BAE.

Once production begins, BAE expects to make more than 60 T-11 parachutes per week at its Phoenix production facility.
